By air and by boat
Since no two towns on the entire island are connected by roads, most people travel by air or by boat. All tourists to Greenland arrive by plane, and most via Denmark. It's a 15-minute helicopter flight from the airport in Narsarsuaq to the town of Narsaq, where our vacation home is located. Passenger ships provide regularly scheduled connections to most towns and settlements. Trips within Greenland can also be arranged with a number of private boat owners.

Plan ahead
It pays to book your trip well in advance.
Air Greenland offers a certain number of seats at reduced fares. Economy round-trip tickets from Copenhagen to Narsarsuaq are usually sold out many months ahead of the main summer tourist season.

Additional sea travel information is available from
Blue Ice and Arctic Umiaq Line.

Iceland connection
During the summer season, there are also flights between Reykjavik and Narsarsuaq.
For ticket and schedule information, see the
Air Iceland website.
